Vitamin B1 – good for the nerves

Vitamin B1, like vitamin B12, contributes to a healthy nervous system. Besides this, it also assists in the production of neurotransmitters.

Furthermore, this vitamin is required for the breakdown and conversion of carbohydrates, and thus supports normal energy metabolism.

Occurrence: Foods which are particularly rich in vitamin B1 include fish, meat, pulses, wholemeal products, tomatoes and nuts.
