Tips on becoming pregnant
You have decided to have a child? And now you can hardly wait for this to happen?
There are actually some beneficial things which you can do to make your desire to have children a wish come true.
We have put together the best tips at a glance, so that you can can enjoy the exhilaration of becoming pregnant as quickly as possible.
Tip 1: Healthy diet
You and your partner can increase your fertility by eating a healthy and varied diet!
Eat plenty of fresh fruit, salad and vegetables, nuts, wholemeal products and dairy products. You should also consume saltwater fish and egg around once or twice a week.
Tip 2: Think about folic acid intake early on!
As soon as you have decided to become pregnant, you should immediately “charge up” your folic acid status. Folio®forte and Folio®forte+D3 supply 800 micrograms of folic acid. This is the appropriate dose when planning to conceive and for the first trimester of pregnancy.
This is because an adequate supply of folic acid, ideally in combination with vitamin B12, forms an enormously important foundation for the development of your child!
Tip 3: Understanding your own cycle
Get to know your body and your cycle. There are various ways of finding out when your fertile days are.
You can determine them using the temperature measurement method, for instance. Calculating your fertile days with the aid of a fertility calendar can also provide information on when best to have sexual intercourse in order to become pregnant.
Tip 4: The right time for sex
Be aware of the right time for sexual intercourse ‒ the days around ovulation are ideal.
Naturally, it is not possible to plan everything down to the last detail, but you should ideally have sexual intercourse with each other every two days when you are at your most fertile. Not only is it possible to conceive during that time, but also the number of sperm reaching the mature egg is higher.
Tip 5: The right position during sexual intercourse
The more sperm entering the uterus, the greater the chances of successful fertilisation of the egg cell. A position in which your partner can penetrate as deeply as possible is thus favourable.
This is the case with the “missionary position” and also in all positions in which the man penetrates from behind.
Tip 6: No nicotine, alcohol or drugs!
You and your partner should stop taking unhealthy stimulants such as cigarettes, alcohol and drugs as soon as possible. They are proven to have a negative effect on fertility. And they are taboo anyhow during pregnancy and the breastfeeding period.
Tip 7: Teething trouble
Have your teeth checked. It is really the case that ovulation takes place more rarely in women who have dental amalgam fillings instead of plastic ones.
You should therefore clarify this with your dentist if you wish to fulfil your desire to have a child quickly.
Tip 8: Exercise!
Make sure your exercise regularly. You do not need to do excessive amounts of sport; frequent movement ‒ particularly in the fresh air ‒ is enough to get your circulation going and ensure inner balance.
High-performance sport on the other hand reduces fertility in both men and women.
